Virginia Beach man charged in threat against officer

VIRGINIA BEACH

Police have charged a man in connection with a threat against an off-duty police officer received on his cell phone.

According to police the call came on Saturday afternoon. The officer did not answer, but the caller left a threatening voicemail.

Edward J. Evard, 24, of the 1300 block of Dunstan Lane, is charged with one count of using profane, threatening or indecent language over the telephone.
