Virginia Beach police charge two in bank robberies after chase

VIRGINIA BEACH

Police have charged two men in connection with two recent bank robberies following a foot chase that ended with one of the men hiding in a dumpster.

According to police spokesman Adam Bernstein a patrol officer spotted a car in the 3400 block of Holland Road Tuesday which matched the description of a vehicle used in the Dec. 26 robbery of the Chartway FCU on General Booth Boulevard.

The officer confronted the driver, who ran away toward a nearby apartment complex, Bernstein said. Officers found the man hiding in a dumpster, according to Bernstein.

After questioning the man police arrested a second man at his home without incident, Bernstein said. They are charged in connection with the Dec. 26 robbery and the Dec. 15 robbery of the Bank of America on Pleasure House Road. Additional charges in other robberies could be forthcoming, Bernstein said.

Keith Antoine Johnson, 27, of the 4500 block of Yarmouth Court, is charged with four counts robbery, four counts of use of a firearm in commission of a felony, two counts of abduction, two counts of entering a bank armed with intent to commit larceny and two counts of conspiracy.

Robert Larry Guillory Jr., 27, of the 800 block of Chimney Hill Parkway, is charged with four counts of robbery, four counts of use of a firearm in commission of a felony, two counts of abduction, two counts of entering a bank armed with intent to commit larceny and two counts of conspiracy.
