A house fire, which displaced a family of four in Chesapeake this morning, was caused by unattended cooking, officials said.
Firefighters responded the accidental fire in the 300 block of Cobblewood Arch shortly before 9 a.m. The residents escaped the house unharmed, according to fire department spokesman Capt. Steve Johnson.
The house was destroyed in the blaze. The American Red Cross is assisting the residents.
