A Hertford, N.C., man today was sentenced to six years in prison on federal cocaine charges, according to a statement from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in North Carolina’s Eastern District.
Christopher Cooper, 36, also was ordered to spend five years on probation after he is released. Judge Terrence W. Boyle sentenced Cooper in U.S. District Court in Raleigh.
Cooper was questioned during a robbery investigation in May 2007 at a trailer in Pasquotank County. An investigation determined that Cooper sold cocaine from the trailer and made drug deliveries in 2007, the statement said.
Cooper was charged in September with conspiring to distribute more than 50 grams of crack and 500 grams of cocaine, the statement said. He pleaded guilty in October.
