Laboon leaving today on deployment to Mediterranean Sea

NORFOLK

The guided-missile destroyer Laboon will deploy today to the Mediterranean Sea as part of the Standing Naval Maritime Groups, according to a news release from Naval Surface Force, Atlantic.

Laboon, with a crew of about 300 sailors, will support theater security cooperation by participating in regional exercises with allies, making diplomatic port calls and responding to contingencies, the news release said. The Standing Naval Maritime Groups are multi-national forces that support NATO around the world.

I can understand how you guys must feel about leaving. I was on the U.S.S.
America CV-66. I remember counting the days till I was going to be back home. There is No Place Like Home!
The Months turn into weeks, then days till you return. Just have a safe trip and come back to your Loved ones soon.
