N.C. man charged with sex offenses involving child

A Manns Harbor, N.C., man has been charged with numerous felony sexual offenses against a child, the Dare County sheriff's office said.

Robert Timothy Walston Sr., 47, was arrested Tuesday and charged with seven counts of first-degree rape and seven counts of indecent liberties with a child.

Walston, who has no prior criminal record, was indicted by a grand jury Jan. 12, Chief Deputy Sheriff Phillip Etheridge said.

Bond was set at $70,000, Etheridge said.
