HAMPTON

A 14-year-old and a 10-year-old were at home when a fire broke out in a two-story home in the 2400 block of Victoria Boulevard Monday, but were able to escape without injury.

According to Hampton Fire Marshal Anne-Marie Loughran the fire started downstairs in the kitchen at about 6 p.m. Most of the fire damage was limited to the kitchen, with smoke damage throughout the house.

The family of four living there has been displaced, Loughran said. The home had a working smoke detector.
