Va. Beach singer makes top 50 on 'American Idol'

You may have heard her belt Alicia Key's R&B hit "No One" along the Beach Boardwalk - but soon you'll hear her on the Kodak Theatre stage in L.A. on national television.

According to Poptower.com and her website, Virginia Beach resident Felicia Barton is one of the top 50 contestants on this season of "American Idol." Which brings our local "Idol" contestants number to two. Elizabeth City's Ricky Braddy is also creating some major buzz on the 'net for making top 50.

So, if you were watching "American Idol" on Wednesday night, you may have gotten a glimpse of Felicia's audition, which wasn't bad! She sang "Put Your Records On" by Corinne Bailey Rae for her audition. I'm not gonna lie, I like this girl. She's cute and has vocal chords to boot. I think she's got a shot. Fingers crossed!

Watch Felicia belt it out for Beach Street USA at the Oceanfront:

The 26 years old has been singing "forever" according to her MySpace page and she's married and has a little boy. Her MySpace page has lots o' congrats and well wishes for making it to Hollywood already.

What do you think? Can she make top 20, top 10?? Leave a comment below if you have a guess or if you know this girl!

Here's a pic of Felicia singing in her hometown of Va. Beach at the Wine Festival!

Felicia Barton.

Felicia leads the worship service at Freedom Fellowship 836 Regency Drive in Virginia Beach. She's fantastic.

Felicia is a class act

Not only is Felicia a terrific singer/entertainer, but she's a wonderful person. Her family is close friends with my family and we have always known she could go far with her talents. For those reading this who haven't heard her in person you should attend Freedom Fellowship on Sunday mornings at either 9:00 am or 11:00 am as she is the Praise and Worship leader. This is a fantastic church!
