VIRGINIA BEACH

A Virginia Beach man won $1 million on his lunch break, lottery officials said.

Robert Jones bought a handful of scratch-off tickets before lunch earlier this month, including a winning $120 Million Cash Blowout game, at the Farm Fresh at 521 Laskin Road, according to a lottery news release.

Jones, who is in sales, took the ticket’s cash option of $564,000 before taxes. He told lottery officials that he will invest some of his winnings and pay off his mortgage.

The ticket has 20 top prizes with only three claimed so far, according to the release.

A presentation was held Friday at the store, which gets a $10,000 bonus for selling a winning ticket.
