CHESAPEAKE

A 43-year-old Chesapeake man was sentenced to 10 years in prison Monday for producing, filming and possessing child pornography.

Circuit Judge Bruce Kushner sentenced Danny Wayne Horn of Deep Creek on four counts of filming a nude minor, four counts of possession of child pornography and one count of producing child pornography. Horn pleaded guilty last year.

Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney Diallo Morris said in court that Horn possessed thousands of images of children.

"This was just a mass library of pornographic child images," Morris said.

During a psychosexual evaluation, Horn indicated he had tried to film children in his neighborhood, playing outside or waiting at bus stops, prosecutors said.

A victim testified Monday that it appeared she was about 12 when Horn filmed her without her knowledge. She relied on therapy and medication to get through the ordeal, she said.

The judge ordered Horn to have no contact with children, stay away from exotic or pornographic material, and refrain from consuming alcohol. Horn must undergo regular polygraph testing and will serve supervised probation. He was banned from using the Internet.

As part of the plea agreement, prosecutors agreed not to prosecute him for any other offenses authorities discovered during the investigation.

Horn, in T-shirt and jeans, did not speak during his sentencing. In a letter read in court by his attorney, Lawrence Woodward, Horn expressed regret.

"I can not believe I have allowed myself to do what was done," he said in his letter.
