Eastern Shore town nominated for magazine's coolest small town contest

Posted to: News Eastern Shore

The Eastern Shore Town of Onancock has been nominated for the title of America’s Coolest Small Town on the Arthur Frommel’s Budget Travel Web site.

The magazine received 152 nominations, added some to the mix, then chose 22 towns for the public to choose from on the site.

The coolest small town is defined as having a population under 10,000, the site says.  It also must be a place that’s beginning to draw attention and new residents because of the quality of life, arts and restaurant scene and proximity to nature.

Organizers of the contest also were looking for towns with art galleries and be considered to have “an edge,” the site says.
