Fuzzy TV? Could be the switch - the digital switch

Posted to: Business

WHRO, the public broadcasting company on Channel 15, and WTVZ, on Channel 33, will turn off their analog signals shortly before midnight.

If you've relied on an antenna to get reception and haven't hooked up a converter box, you'll probably see a fuzzy screen.

To fix the problem, buy a converter box, available at most electronics retail stores for about $40 to $80. You can apply for a $40 coupon for the box, but there's a waiting list.

For more information, visit www.dtv2009.gov or call (888) DTV-2009.

The deadline for TV stations to switch to digital signals was moved from today to June 12, but some stations were permitted to make the transition today.
