Parenting Special Needs

From the desk of a parent of a 16-year-old, special education student, diagnosed with cerebral palsy, developmental delay and a physical disability. This blog is for parents and caregivers of children with special needs, as well as educators and health professionals. Here you will find events in the area, updates to laws, as well as opportunities, with my own personal stories thrown in for heartbreak and encouragement. Have a question? Just ask.

Lifetime Movie Network

Due to financial hardship my family has cut back to basic cable. That means no more TCM for me.

I figured I would give the Lifetime channel a try. I taped a few movies that sounded okay. Not great. Just okay. Well…

After watching about 8 of them I have realized one thing. Police are stupid. Love can be dangerous. And you really need to be in a coma to enjoy the Lifetime channel.

I think I’ll try SCI-FI next. Any other suggestions?

How comfortable is your computer chair?

Netflix is the best deal in town. In addition to unlimited DVDs sent to your house (actually, somewhat limited by efficiency of the postal service), there are over 12,000 titles available to watch immediately on your desktop. (including old seasons of TV shows, etc.) If your kid has an Xbox, you can watch them on you television (or there’s a $99 box that downloads them for your set). 8 bucks a month – and the number of movies will only rise. I really believe this is the future of television programming.

I once scheduled a full day of ...

... Law and Order. I toggled between TNT and Bravo and Wavy.

I love Lifetime!

Thankyou very much. Some of the true stories they have on there are great. And the bonus? They play Will and Grace every weekday night except Thursday from 11pm to 12am. I love Will and Grace!
