Restrictions are lifted on Buxton, N.C. water

BUXTON, N.C.

Restrictions on water use for customers in Buxton were lifted this morning by the Dare County Water Department.

A broken water main near the Lighthouse Road intersection on N.C. 12 had been reported on Sunday, and customers were advised to boil water used for consumption.

Potable water service to the Hatteras water system in Buxton has been restored to capacity, the county announced today in a news release. Samples collected from multiple locations within the system have been free of coliform bacteria, the statement said
