The two boys who were injured in a house fire in Winton, N.C., on Saturday are still in serious to critical condition, according to the county’s emergency management coordinator.
The boys, 11 and 7, were flown out late Saturday night from Sentara Norfolk General Hospital to Shriners Hospital in Cincinnati, said Hertford County emergency management coordinator Charles Jones. Shriners Hospital specializes in treating child burn victims.
The fire started on the lower level of the two-story house on Saturday morning before 8 a.m. and was caused by an electrical space heater in the living room, according to county officials.
The mother and her 9-year-old daughter escaped the fire, but the older son suffered burns and smoke inhalation. The younger was burned on 50 percent of his body, Jones said.

I wish the 2 boys well. At Shriners burn hospitals they are in the best possible place for burn treatment. Additionally, the family will never have to pay a cent for any of the care or transportation regardless if they have insurance or not. At this time, Shriners does not accept 3rd party insurance and it will be absolutly free to the child and 1 parent.
