Filmmaker David Lynch (Blue Velvet, Twin Peaks, Mulholland Drive, INLAND EMPIRE) will launch the new online TV channel David Lynch Foundation Television (DLF.TV) on Wednesday, March 25.
DLF.TV is the production wing of the David Lynch Foundation, which was founded by the iconic filmmaker to teach at-risk young people to meditate—to give them the tools to overcome stress and violence in their lives.
The first DLF.TV webcast will be on Saturday, April 4, from Radio City Music Hall in New York City during an exclusive backstage webcast of the “Change Begins Within” benefit concert. The webcast will start at 6:30 p.m. EDT on DLF.TV and will use BitGravity's BG Live™ highly-scalable flash-based video stream service.
Paul McCartney will headline the concert along with special guests Ringo Starr, Eddie Vedder, Donovan, Sheryl Crow, Ben Harper, Moby, Paul Horn, Bettye LaVette and Jim James. The concert will raise funds to teach one million children to meditate—“giving them the tools to overcome stress and violence and grow in happiness and peace in their lives,” Lynch said.
To date, the David Lynch Foundation has provided scholarships for over 70,000 at-risk students in public and private schools in the US, Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa to learn to the Transcendental Meditation technique. Research at Harvard, Yale, UCLA, Stanford, and other leading US research institutions show the meditation practice reduces stress, anxiety, and depression; improves academic achievements and IQ, and decreases ADHD, suspensions, and violence.
DLF.TV will showcase the success of the Foundation’s in-school meditation programs worldwide, provide exclusive videos of Lynch; profile meditating artists, scientists, athletes, etc; and sponsor international film, photography, and painting competitions.
The “Daily David” video blog, which will include short clips of Lynch ruminating on directing, creativity, and meditation, will highlight DLF.TV.

Transcendental Meditation Rocks the House
I have enjoyed Transcendental Meditation for years and I have seen first hand the wonderful effect it has on children. I am a staunch supporter of keeping church and state separate. Thats why I support this scientific mental technique for reducing stress and enlivening the brain of those children and parents who want to use it. Not only that but I'm going to the McCartney concert. Yippee!
Wonderful article. David
Wonderful article. David Lynch is so creative and this new online TV station will be a great addition. I love Transcendental Meditation like David. Great stress buster and gives creativity and energy. Hope the concert is a huge success.
