Posted to: News Virginia

Former Virginian-Pilot photographer Lawrence Jackson has been named to the White House’s official photo staff.

Jackson worked at The Virginian-Pilot from 1991 to 2000 before eventually moving on to work for The Associated Press in Washington, D.C. Pete Souza, the chief White House photographer, announced the selection of Jackson last month, according to the National Press Photographers Association.

Jackson will be part of a team of photographers documenting the presidency of Barack Obama, according to the NPPA.
