High School Softball Notes

Nansemond River 3, #2 Hickory 2: Good job Jenna. Second loss in a row for Hickory's freshman pitcher, Amber Phillips. Welcome to varsity ball. How many losses will it take before the Hickory coach gives the ball to senior pitcher Amber Raulerson?

#3 Western Branch 16, Oscar Smith 1: Relief pitchers do not "notch" wins unless they bring their team back to win the game. Win should be credited to the starter. Was this a coach reporting error or a VP error?

Churchland 7, Wilson 0: Churchland is off to a good start this season. Today they face TCIS powerhouse Greenbrier Christian if the rain holds off. I have heard that Greenbrier is not as strong as they have been in past years so this could be a close game.

#1 Kellam 22, Green Run 0: Coach TJ, how do you justify letting your team run the score up that high against Green Run?
