Ricky Braddy, the Elizabeth City native who was given a second chance at superstardom after being previously eliminated on "American Idol," failed on Thursday night to make it to the TV show's next round.
He sang Stevie Wonder's "Superstition" - a notoriously difficult tune to pull off because of its highs, lows and vocal runs, but he did so well that judge Kara DioGuardi told him, "You can sing your butt off!"
Hard-to-please judge Simon Cowell, however, was not convinced.
Braddy would have been the lone singer from this region left in the competition. Virginia Beach native Felicia Barton was eliminated Wednesday. Still, along with Chesapeake native Chris Richardson from the show's sixth season, they're now among those who can say they represented the area in America's top talent search.

Meagan???? WHAT WERE YOU THINKIN'
I think the judges cannot hear. Megan was off key the whole song and those weird moves. IM done with American Idol.. THe should have given Felicia Bartona and Juyno (dont know how to spell it) another chance!!
Megan Cockrey????
All the judges loved this "biker chick" with the big ugly tattoos on her left arm (the least she could do is wear sleeves). Her voice is not exceptional...her movements are not exceptional...I just don't see what the judges are seeing in her, except that she is quirky, wierd, an unwed mother, etc. American Idol has really gone downhill in selecting her!
Simon calls her comtemporary...I say she's plain disgusting. The American Public had already decided she wasn't worth it...and the judges bring her back...go figure!
