Fire destroyed a home on Michael Irvin Drive and displaced two people.
The fire was reported at 5:39 a.m. in the 400 block of Michael Irvin Drive, according to a news release from the department. No injuries were reported.
When firefighters arrived, they found heavy flames shooting from the attice of the two-story home, the release says. Firefighters had the blaze under control in less than 30 minutes. The attic and parts of the second floor were so badly damaged that the home was condemned.
The blaze began in the attic and investigators are trying to determine the cause.
The American Red Cross was called to help the two people who lived in the home.
