Letters to Editor - bLetters

We welcome your opinion on public issues, in either of two ways. You can submit a letter to the editor for possible publication in the printed edition. The Virginian-Pilot welcomes letters to the editor on all topics, although concise letters (150 words or less) on public issues will receive priority. Letters may be edited for length, style and clarity and writers are limited to one published letter every month. Please add your name, city, street address and daytime telephone number for confirmation.

The other way is to comment on the published letters in this blog. In this online forum, you can comment as much as you want by using the comment box at the end of each entry.

How does it feel?

Now the liberals know how it feels to have the shoe on the other foot. After years of Bush-bashing letters, a few critical of Obama were published in The Pilot on March 8. Amazing, but not surprising, were the whining responses ('Counterpoint: Taken to task for taking the president to task,' letters, March 12). And calling those who do not agree with them ignorant and stupid is a typical response of many liberal thinkers.

johnbo whines about earmarks

Approximately 40% of the earmarks are from republicans and they complain because Obama approved their earmarks.

you guys made it so easy to point out the mistakes of those past 8 years.......you on the other hand are simply gasping for air under the weight of your own failings. Again I ask........why are you so angry at us when you folks persuaded over 52% of Americans to grasp socialism over your twisted ideas of democracy......the GOP simply can't answer.....

that is in the first 50 days of his administration, the Liberals in Congress and President Obama have managed to spend more money than each and everyone of the administrations before them combined, and has it worked NO it hasn't and it won't. This name calling has been tolerated by republicans for the last 8 yrs and now the Liberals are whining about fair play as we rate their Messiah for the FAILURE HE IS!!! Try again who appointed a tax cheat to head the IRS OBAMA, who promised no lobbyist in his administration and failed to keep this promise OBAMA. Who promised NO EARMARKS IN HIS FEDERAL Budget and yet passed one with 8000 earmarks once again OBAMA. Care for me to keep going LIBS we can go at this all day, we warned you we would be treating you to the same way you treated President BUSH so QUIT WHINNING AND TAKE YOUR RIGHTLY DESERVED MEDICINE. We have the right to disagree and voice our opposition of this administration just ask Hillary who said this? Reap what you have sown and maybe you won't be so judgmental next time. We are watching and waiting to point out your mistakes like you have for 8 yrs.

The huge deficit you are referring to happened under Bush's watch. He took a Budget surplus that was paying off national debt and doubled the deficit with his wealthy-only tax cuts and run-away spending. He and many of his group are nothing but thieves and belong in jail.

Actually, things were going fairly well until the Democrats took control of Congress in 2007 and began implementing the policies which lead to the mortgage crisis and stock market meltdown. Have you checked the Federal deficit lately?

Ms. Fulp's letter proves one of life's undeniable realities: when the left gets their own 'medicine', they will cry foul the loudest and the longest. You can bank on that!

For years, I've listened to conservatives refer to liberals as ignorant, stupid, and many other choice invectives. Has Ms. Fulp never listened to conservative talk radio? Has she never heard the sarcasm of Rush Limbaugh? Has she never heard Michael Savage say that liberalism is a mental disorder?

You sound like a child who was just caught saying a bad word: "But Michael said it first!!"

This kind of behavior is either OK or it's not. Where do you stand?
