Kaine appoints new counselor to the governor

Posted to: News Virginia

RICHMOND

Gov. Timothy M. Kaine has appointed Mark Rubin as counselor to the governor.

Rubin will take over March 10. He fills the position left vacant by Larry Roberts, who stepped down so he could take a similar role as senior adviser to Kaine in his role as chairman of the Democratic National Committee.

Rubin has served as senior adviser and deputy counselor to the governor since Kaine took office in 2005.

Kaine called Rubin a "good friend, a confidant and an outstanding public servant."

As counselor to the governor, Rubin serves as the chief legal representative for Kaine and a member of his cabinet. Before joining Kaine's administration, Rubin was a mediator and arbitrator with The McCammon Group Ltd. and was in private law practice.

I would recommend using spell check, or editing before you publish mistakes like that. Counselor has an "S" in it.
