Free cataract removal offered for up to 14 uninsured

Local eye specialists will provide free cataract removal for up to 14 people without insurance through the Mission Cataract USA program. Tidewater Eye Centers will provide the surgeries in June.

Interested local people must fill out a financial questionnaire. Applicants must be uninsured and have no other means to pay for the surgery. People with government insurance, such as Medicare and Medicaid, don't qualify. Call (757) 397-4666 for an application.
