WILKES-BARRE, Pa.
Brandon Buck netted his first professional points with a goal and an assist and Craig Kowalski made 32 saves as the Norfolk Admirals closed out the 2008-09 season with their third straight win, a 4-3 victory over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Saturday night at the Wachovia Arena at Casey Plaza.
After the Penguins (48-25-3-3) jumped out to a 2-0 lead, the Admirals (33-38-4-5) stormed back to tie the game before the teams skated off for the first intermission. Mike Sgroi punched the puck through the pads of Adam Berkhoel at 10:47 for his first goal as an Admiral.
Norfolk knotted the game at two goals apiece at 15:59 on a goal by Radek Smolenak.
The Admirals took the lead at 6:13 of the second period with Brandon Buck's first professional goal.
Blair Jones' twentieth goal of the season was the last of Norfolk's season.
