McAuliffe's man

Hey, look who it is. Yep, that blurry man with the dark hair is Norfolk City Councilman Randy Wright.

Wait, what's that stuck to his suitcoat? Looks like a McCain-Palin sticker.

This was shot last fall at the McCain-Palin rally at the Virginia Beach Convention Center. Wright was wedged into the front row, cheering wildly at times for the Republican team. I was half a football field away on the other side of the room - which only partially explains the arty lousy photography.

What a difference seven months makes.

Today Wright is working on Terry McAuliffe's campaign to capture the Democratic nomination for governor.

Guess he really IS an independent.

"Yup, I was there," Wright said when I asked him about the picture in my files. "I voted for McCain-Palin. And I love Sarah Palin...she knew how to talk to regular people."

So does McAuliffe, Wright said. And he's not as liberal as you might think, he quickly added.

The unofficial mayor of Ocean View said he first met McAuliffe last December. He was so impressed, he held a meet-and-greet at his home in February to introduce McAuliffe to locals. On May 14th, Wright'll be front and center when Bill Clinton comes to town for a McAuliffe fundraiser.

I asked Wright if he had anything to do with that slick McAuliffe ad that was filmed at Doumar's.

"No comment," Wright said. "Let's just say he has good advisors."

The right call....

It was the right call for Councilman Wright to back McCain-Palin. This idiot that we have in the white house now is destroying the moral backbone of this country. Anyone who covers up a statue of Jesus and is ashamed to be seen in front of the Lord is shameful and this just proves that Obama is really a muslim!
