The Pilot’s new entertainment section, Pulse, premiered last week and will be published every Thursday. It’s the must-have weekly guide for people who want to have fun in Hampton Roads.
The bigger, better section is printed in a new tabloid format that will make it easier to pull out of the Thursday paper and keep on your coffee table all week to plan your play time. It covers nightlife, restaurants, arts and entertainment, and includes the same Daily Break features that readers love, such as comics, puzzles, horoscopes, advice columns and TV listings.

The PULSE
Why are only 'some' of the entertainment events (which are posted in the events calendar on line) included under the music section in the Pulse? How do you choose which get listed in the Pulse, and which do not? I think I speak for all local bands and musicians when I say that is just NOT correct.
Congratulations Traci !!
Let us all know about the seats you won from the Pilot, are they primo orchastra seats, balcony seats or the cheapo nose bleed area seats. Readers want to know and are so happy for you - You are the Wiz! PULSE is a great idea! Oh Pls let us know how you enmjoyed the whole wicked experience.
where's is the personality?
I had high hopes that the pilot would be bringing back some of the voice and personality the lost with link. where'e the fun? the quirky? its time for the pilot to let its hair down a little and have some fun.
The Pulse
The format is horrible. Please bring back a standard newspaper page format.
A Joke
Go back to the standard Daily Break format. This rag was too difficult to read, and bothersome. Kinda reminded me of the National Inquire format.
Keep it on the coffee table? It was easier to put in the bottom of the dog crate, that's for sure!
The Hype is just that - hype,
The name may be new but the innards are the same O same O, the Daily Press Friday entertainment section stills rocks and puts the pilot to shame, and that's not hard to do it seems - this is the same Daily Break with a different cut of paper - I am so let down. The LINK had more info any day of the week, what's going on here?? the best offering in this pub is the personal touch of High lighting Pilot Art Reporter extraordinaire 'Teresa Annas', thanks for that special touch. The Pulse can only improve from here - yes?
Not impressed
I saw it this morning. I'm not impressed. The small size makes the articles look cramped and harder to read. What was wrong with leaving it the same size as the rest of the paper?
Pulse?
If the Pilot wants to give us a weekly guide please bring back the "Green Sheet" . Pretty please!!
Brilliant!! What a concept!! Can't wait!!!
It's going to be interesting to see what information this new publication will provide!! - Wow! PULSE - who thought of that??
