NORFOLK

Police have charged a man in an attack of a woman in her home Monday on Cape View Avenue and said the man is a person of interest in a similar incident on Sunset Drive.

Brian Jordan, 29, of the 1800 block of Croyden Ave., was charged with robbery and malicious wounding this morning about 2:45 a.m., said Chris Amos, police spokesman.

The woman, in her mid-70s, was assaulted in her Cape View Avenue home Monday about 4:15 p.m. She was taken to a hospital and her injuries were not considered life-threatening.

A husband, 90, and his wife, 86, remained hospitalized in critical condition this morning after being attacked in their Sunset Drive home, Amos said. They were taken to a hospital with injuries that were considered life-threatening.

They were found early Tuesday morning after a relative went to check on them, Amos said.

A window in the back of the home was found open, but police were not sure if their attacker got inside that way, Amos said. The wife's gold wedding ring was the only item known taken, police reported today.

No charges have been filed in that case.
