Two people were taken to a hospital with minor injuries after a deck collapsed on Deep Creek Road, fire officials said.

The collapse happened shortly before noon Sunday in the 600 block of Deep Creek, fire officials wrote in a news release today. One person was trapped under the deck and had to be freed by firefighters.

The deck was being cleaned with a power-washer, the release says. One person was standing on top of the deck and the other person was underneath.

Investigators believe the deck, attached to the second story of the building, collapsed because of its age.
