CHESAPEAKE
When was the last time you ate a really juicy burger? Five Guys Burgers and Fries at Chesapeake Square Mall serves a tasty burger. It's juicy but with a nice crispiness in the right places and it's fixed the way you like it. All toppings are free, including grilled mushrooms. If you want your onions sauteed, they'll do that too.
You can munch on salted peanuts in the shell as your order is prepared. Seventy-five employees round out the list of enthusiastic cooks and cashiers.
When I visited the eatery, Brett Slaughter, the assistant general manager, handed me a delicious bacon cheeseburger. Another employee brought me a cup of their fries. As I ate the fries, what came to mind was the way my mom cooked them, skins and all.
A steady stream of customers and rocking music made for a lively atmosphere. Posters affirming the popularity of the food lined the walls. "Best Bang for Your Buck," says a sign quoting a 2009 Baltimore restaurant guide. Another says "100 % fresh American beef. Never frozen. No fillers or preservatives."
Sacks of fresh potatoes ran parallel to the counter where I noticed Chesapeake residents Dawn and Steve Lassiter. They've been in to eat burgers before. "We really like it here," Dawn said. Steve said he liked his burger loaded down with toppings. Their table showed signs of peanuts enjoyed while waiting for their order.
Brett hustled around overseeing and assisting with food preparation. With 12 years of food experience, he transferred from the Battlefield Boulevard location. Brett showed his enthusiasm for the food and said the most popular burger is the bacon cheeseburger.
"On a weekend night, we'll cook between eight and nine hundred burgers and fry about fifty pounds of potatoes. It's all freshly prepared. People love it here. We're already No. 2 in sales in the state, with the Washington, D.C., location being No. 1.
"I hear that Michelle Obama has said that she sometimes slips out to Five Guys Burgers and Fries up there. We've been open a month here with Megan King as manager and we hit the ground running. It already feels like family."

5 Guys Hamburgers in Hampton VA
We ordered two cheese burgers. My wife's had bone fragments it it. Not just one or two but it was loaded. She of course couldn't eat it. I took the bone fragment to show the manager. His response...not "Oh my..I'm sorry here's your money back.. or "How about a new burger or even a hot dog. Noooo...his response...: "Uh...sorry man."
Right. Good luck with that kind of business attitude.
Yuk! Yuk, Yuk! ...If you eat there you might want to check for bone bits in your burger....we of course have had our one & only visit to these Guys!
Hello
I'm certainly not going to Chesapeake for anything, unless I have no choice, and a restaurant is not a reason!

worst five guys ever! (cont)
... i received the grilled cheese, drinks and fry as ordered. the two burgers were completely botched. i got a bacon cheeseburger, nothing on it and a hamburger with grilled mushrooms, grilled onions and pickles. therefore, on top of the ridiculously worst customer service i have ever received at the store, my order was incorrect. i am not sure how 5guys will survive with this type of service. i am disgusted at how badly 5guys is going downhill. i understand it is fast food, but customer service is customer service. my recommendation... DO NOT EAT AT FIVE GUYS IN HAMPTON, VA!!!
worst five guys ever!
i have been a devoted fan of 5guys until today. i am not sure if it is because this is a new location or what it was. i placed a call-in order from the hampton 5guys then went to pick it up. upon my arrival, they started to make my order. 30 minutes later, i have still not received my order. my order number was 73 and they were calling 9. i went to the pick up counter and the manager was there speaking with another customer who was number 87 and still had not received his order either. i asked about 73 and the manager said "73 is already out the door". i told him it was not and i am still standing right there waiting. he told the guys in the back putting the orders together to look for it. they finally looked at the orders and said "oh. it's right here". the guys working there dragged their feet around when they were working and they were too busy ogling the female customers. when i finally brought my food home and opened the burgers, it was not what i ordered. i had ordered one hamburger with grilled mushrooms, lettuce, tomatoes, ketchup, mayo; one bacon cheeseburger with pickle, mustard, ketchup, grilled mushrooms; one grilled cheese; one large fry; two soft drinks. i received th

I am a fan of Burger -
I am a fan of Burger - it’s really the “fast” food because it takes less time to eat and it’s tasty as well! One day, my best friend, who knows all my likings and disliking very well; suggested me to try out five guys’ burgers. Now I am a regular customer of five guys burgers. Especially burger with grilled mushroom- its delicious!

Is there one in Norfolk? I'm certainly not going to Chesapeake for anything, unless I have no choice, and a restaurant is not a reason!
Don't Forget...
about the 5 Guys on Independence (by cinema cafe) and also there is one on NOB (Norfolk Naval Station, by the Wind and Sea??. I've been hooked since my first time going.
Battlefield Boulevard Location
There is also Five Guys on Battlefield near the corner of Volvo Parkway. Great burgers and fries -- no low fat there!
Love the food, Brett . . .
And because of the way you hustle so much of it out so nice and hot, I will forgive your knowledge of geography but, um, the Washington D.C. store can't be the best one in *Virginia*!!! Ha ha ha!
