Efforts to collect prosthetic limbs were dampened a bit by rain outside Harbor Park Sunday, but some crutches and four limbs were dropped off at Harbor Park on Sunday, said Mary Kwasniewski, a Physicians for Peace spokeswoman.

The collection drive was scheduled to be held from noon to 2:30 p.m., but the group moved to their warehouse about 12:30 p.m. because of the rain and game cancellation, Kwasniewski said.

Already, the group had collected about 100 limbs for the Walking Free program and plan to send everything gathered to the Philippines, she said.

Kwasniewski said the group has been holding the event for eight years and “it’s the first time it rained.”
