Norfolk Tides' Waters picks up third straight win

TOLEDO, OHIO

Chris Waters allowed just two runs on five hits in six innings of work Monday, pitching the Norfolk Tides to a 5-2 win over Toledo.

Waters (5-2) worked around five walks to pick up his third straight victory. He struck out three and threw 59 of his 99 pitches for strikes.

Norfolk broke open the contest with three runs in the third inning. Justin Christian plated Joey Gathright with an RBI single, Justin Turner drove home a run with a sacrifice fly and Steve Torrealba singled in a run.

Torrealba led Norfolk with two hits to help the Tides improve improve to 9-0 against the IL West this season.
