Bishop Sullivan 22, Norfolk Academy 4

After having Wednesday’s 17-2 Tidewater Conference semifinal halftime lead wiped out by rain, Katelyn McKenna and her Bishop Sullivan lacrosse teammates made the most of Thursday’s do-over.

The unbeaten Crusaders, spurred by McKenna’s seven goals, recorded their 14th consecutive victory by thumping Norfolk Academy 22-4.

Bishop Sullivan hosts Cape Henry, a team it has defeated twice this season, in today’s 4:30 p.m. championship.

“The girls came out with a purpose and are one win away from their goal of sweeping the regular season and tournament titles,” Bishop Sullivan coach Patty Nelson said. “Katelyn led the way and Lauren Wohner added three goals and six assists.”

Gabi Lawrence paced the defensive effort with six caused turnovers. Sophomore goalie Alexis Papierrello made seven saves for the Crusaders.
