Want to know where to go for local music? Check this out!!
What's up dudes,
I know that there are alot of places for you to figure out where you can go if you want to see local music. Alot of websites and papers and so on, but one the best that I have seen is a new website called Vbnightlife.com.
This website, which is run by a young lady named Nicole who loves local music, isnt your ordinary website. First of all, it is a first class website which is very easy to navigate. It is very interactive, kind of a myspace for the local scene. You can become a member and interact with others who are fans of local music. You can look up your favorite band or your favorite venue and see what's going on. Members can submit videos or pictures of bands that they have seen play.
Whats really cool about the site is how the site lists the venue and the bands. Not only are the bands listed, but links to all there websites are also included along with the type of music that they play. This is a very nice touch for someone who is new to the scene and looking for a band to check out.. The section that includes the venues provides links to websites where included and contact numbers incase you want to call and find out if you need reservations or just to get direction. Very nice touches which provide helpful hints to make you local music experience more pleasurable.
The site also includes other cool things, including featured events, blogs, and so on which are being worked on but where it really hits a home run is in how it treats the bands and the venues. This isnt just a listing, its a way for you to make a choice as to where you can go and what you can hear. If you are in a band or run a venue, get on this website. It can only help you. If you love local music, this should be the site for you to plan your local musical experience. Check it out dudes.

I just wanted to give some props to http://meona.net, which has been following and chronicling the local scene for years now. Looks like someone over at VBNightlife is copying the content straight off the Meona events page.
