Chesapeake home destroyed by fire this morning

CHESAPEAKE

A home was destroyed by fire this morning in the 1800 block of Land of Promise Road, fire officials said.

The fire was reported to dispatchers at 4:12 a.m., said Capt. Sam Gulisano, fire department spokesman.

When firefighters arrived, the home was engulfed in flames, Gulisano said. Firefighters had the blaze under control by 5:15 a.m. No injuries were reported.

The home was believed to be vacant, but firefighters were working to verify that, Gulisano said.

The blaze is under investigation.
