Cultural alliance to host benefit at Botanical Garden

NORFOLK

The Cultural Alliance of Greater Hampton Roads will stage its June Jazz annual garden party benefit June 18 at Norfolk Botanical Garden.

The event will start at 6 p.m. and feature jazz by The King's Trio and entertainment by The Hurrah Players and that theater group's artistic director, Hugh Copeland. A silent auction also will take place.

Raymond Jones, WHRO-FM announcer and the station's cultural resource manager will be the emcee.

The Garden is at 6700 Azalea Garden Road. Tickets cost $65 advance, $75 at the door. Call (757) 889-9421 or visit www.culturalli.org.

The Cultural Alliance is the region's umbrella arts organization that serves the arts community in numerous ways, including a yearly Alli Awards for local arts support.
