VIRGINIA BEACH

Firefighters remain at Holiday Trav-L-Park this morning after an overnight fire heavily damaged the café, storage area and laundry area, a spokesman said.

They were called to the campground in the 1000 block of General Booth Blvd. shortly before 4 a.m. and had the blaze under control within about 30 minutes, said Battalion Chief Leon Dextradeur, a fire department spokesman.

No injuries were reported, Dextradeur said.

Firefighters will be at the campground through the morning to check for hot spots.

The investigation into the cause is continuing, Dextradeur said.

The campground is open. For more information, call (757) 425-0249.
