Local tributes: Memorial moonwalks and songs
Did you think Cube Candy would be filled with anything but Michael Jackson love today?
People! Twitter crashed several times last night due to the chatter about his and Farrah Fawcett's deaths - and the rumored deaths of two other celebrities. (Jeff Goldblum and Harrison Ford are very much alive, by the way.)
Things weren't much better on Facebook. Although the system didn't crash, you couldn't glance a timeline without someone reminiscing, grieving or complaining about Michael Jackson.
With all this MJ outpouring, Cube figured something local had to be happening... and Cube was right:

Core Theatre Ensemble directors Edwin Castillo, second from right, and Emel Ertugrul, third from right, organized a Michael Jackson memorial moonwalk in Norfolk. These are the people who participated in the walk that started at the Naro Expanded Cinema and trailed about three blocks down Colley Avenue.

After a few blocks, the moonwalkers stopped at Colley Cantina for a drink. Then, they returned to the New Belmont, where everyone was singing Michael Jackson on the karaoke stage and remembering the time...
Speaking of, 24SevenCities.com's editor Hannah Serrano uploaded a video of by Skye Zentz singing "Heal the World" as a tribute to Michael Jackson on YouTube:
