Louisville, Ky.

Louisville's Danny Richar scored on a balk and Drew Sutton hit a run-scoring single Thursday night to break a 1-1 tie and send the Bats on their way to a 3-1 victory over the Norfolk Tides at Louisville Slugger Field.

After winning the opener of the four-game series, the Tides dropped the final three.

Trailing 1-0, the Tides tied it in the third on back-to-back, two-out doubles by Joey Gathright and Justin Christian.

Norfolk right-hander Chris Tillman (5-4) allowed four hits and three runs in six innings.

Note: First baseman Brandon Snyder will make his Tides debut tonight. Snyder, the ninth-rated prospect in the Orioles organization according to Baseball America, is batting .348 with 10 home runs and 45 RBIs this season with Double-A Bowie. Snyder was the 13th pick in the 2005 major league draft.
