Marcus Vick is going back to court over accusations he violated conditions of his drunken-driving sentencing.
A hearing on whether to revoke his suspended sentence and his participation in an alcohol awareness and education program was postponed Wednesday in General District Court, with a new date set for Aug. 5.
He is accused of not complying with provisions of the Alcohol Safety Action Program, according to online court records.
Vick, 25, of Suffolk, is the younger brother of onetime Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick.
Marcus Vick pleaded guilty in October to driving drunk, eluding a police officer and driving on the wrong side of the road. He was charged last June after police said he tried to flee from a bicycle patrol officer in downtown Norfolk.
A judge in October suspended a one-year jail sentence, fined Vick $250 and took away his driver’s license – except for traveling to certain medical or program meetings – for a year for the drunken-driving charge. Vick also had to pay $280 in fines on the other charges.
Marcus Vick, like his brother, played football at Virginia Tech. The school dropped him from the team in 2006 after problems on and off the field. The Miami Dolphins released him in 2007.
