Body found in Lake James area of Virginia Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH

A body was found in the Lake James area of Virginia Beach, police said. 

Around 7:41 p.m. Monday, dispatchers received a call about a woman found dead in the 1000 block of Belvoir Lane, said Wayne Gilbert, a police spokesman. 

When they arrived, they found the body, believed to be female, Gilbert said.  

The body was taken to the medical examiner's office to determine the identity and cause of death, Gilbert said. 

No further information was given.
