Letters to Editor - bLetters
We welcome your opinion on public issues, in either of two ways. You can submit a letter to the editor for possible publication in the printed edition. The Virginian-Pilot welcomes letters to the editor on all topics, although concise letters (150 words or less) on public issues will receive priority. Letters may be edited for length, style and clarity and writers are limited to one published letter every month. Please add your name, city, street address and daytime telephone number for confirmation.
The other way is to comment on the published letters in this blog. In this online forum, you can comment as much as you want by using the comment box at the end of each entry.

Glenn Nye - Another bigh spending liberal
Of course he is a big spending Pelosi lapdog. Look at his votes. He voted for virtually all big spending bills except a couple where the Dems had a huge majority and Pelosi let him off the bus so he could claim he is fiscally reponsible. What a joke.
Glenn Nye saying that he is a fiscally conservative Blue Dog Democrat does not make it so. He votes say he is just another rubber stamp for Pelosi.
Glenn Nye. Republican voter??? Get real.
I don't know where anyone can possibly..
arrive at a conclusion that Nye is not a typical partisan, Obama rubber stamping Dem. There won't ever be any editorializing about that, of course, from that groups of Dems otherwise known as the Pilot's Editorial Board. They invent those criticisms for their opponents only, like they did with Drake. Just like Bobby Scott, voting almost entirely with the party is a good thing, per the Pilot and the other Dem abetting media. Nye got a lot of press for advocating that the Porkulus Bill go back to committee before bringing it for a vote, that didn't happen, so he showed his stripes and voted FOR it. He's solidly Obama and Pelosi in his voting record.
Just interested...
I'm just interested in knowing what Nye voted for that seems republican. Seeing as how he has voted 90% with party and 1% abstaining on all votes, what does that actually come down to on final votes on bills. My guess is 100% without even looking. I take the most issue with this rubber stamp voting for the porkulous and being a Pelosi, Reid, Obama lapdog. No, people complained about Drake but Nye is doing exactly the same thing. Only difference now is the liberals suddenly defend rubber stamping. Go figure.
Nobody complained about Drake?
You defended Drake when people complained about her voting record -- you know, the one that was lock-step with Bush/Cheney/GOP. Do not lie about that now.
I think you misread..
I think you misread my comment. In essence, when Drake voted on matters, I agreed with her voting record but liberals (um, you I guess) trumpeted the "lock-step" mantra. Now that Nye is doing the same thing, liberals (um, you I guess) try to say he is somehow balanced and an independent thinker. Final bills are what counts and his yes ink is all over the current admins porkulous and policies. I see him as yes vote of the democratic party no matter what, unless he wants to play "balanced" politics with democratic sure wins. Meyra O. played that game of the "one" dissenting vote all of the time. So why is it that dems cried about Drake voting with party as being a disgrace but with Nye it is suddenly OK?
So let me get this straight,,,
you like a politician who thinks independently, but you voted for Drake? Interesting.
Ditto
Nye was elected to represent the second district, not the DNC. There are enough partisan puppets in DC.
