Sheriff: Man in mask sexually assaulted girl in Gloucester

A man wearing a dark ski mask grabbed a girl and sexually assaulted her behind a woodline on Tuesday evening, the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office said.

The girl was assaulted between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. in a wooded area between Sycamore Lane and Poplar Springs Road, the sheriff’s office said. He then released her. She did not know who he was, the sheriff’s office said.

The attacker was described as being about 6 feet tall, or taller, with an average build. He wore dark clothing, a dark ski mask, dark gloves and dark boots.

The sheriff’s office did not release the girl’s age. Investigators asked that anyone with information call the Gloucester County Crime Line at (804) 693-2677.
