Soldiers to deploy to Afghanistan from Fort Eustis

The 271st Movement Control Team is scheduled to leave Fort Eustis for a 12-month deployment to Afghanistan today.

A departure ceremony will take place at noon in the Transportation School’s Wylie Theater, according to a news release from the 7th Sustainment Brigade at Fort Eustis. About 20 soldiers are to take part in the ceremony.

During the deployment, members of the team will provide movement control team services by scheduling, coordinating, synchronizing, tracking and expediting the movement of cargo and personnel, the news release said.
