Arlington man is second to die of swine flu in Virginia

Posted to: Fitness and Nutrition News Virginia

The death of an Arlington man is the second in the state associated with the H1N1 virus, commonly known as the swine flu, Virginia health officials announced Wednesday.

The state's commissioner of health, Dr. Karen Remley, made the announcement in a prepared statement, saying the man had an underlying medical condition that put him at greater risk of flu complications. The state did not release any more information about the man.

The first swine flu death in Virginia occurred early last month in Chesapeake. April Wilson, a 34-year-old woman, died June 2. She was a resident of the Southeastern Virginia Training Center, a facility for people with severe disabilities.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has reported 127 deaths in the nation caused by the new virus. There have been 332 deaths in laboratory-confirmed H1N1 cases worldwide.

The truth does not sell papers?

Why does the media continue to scare the ignorant and the headline readers? THE SWINE FLU HAS NOT KILLED ANYONE !!!!!! In this country alone 20,000 people every year die from influenza without catchy names and no one freaks out about it. Most all of these cases had underlining conditions. If you read more than the headline you will see every so called death from swine flu is the same. What ever happened to reporting the truth? Not much money in it I guess.
