First tomato salad

Jen blogging:

At long last, the tomatoes are coming in.

The first one I harvested had a black bruise that expanded, making it look like it had been in a bad fight. The second I picked and left in the back yard for a few minutes was neatly sampled by an unknown predator. The bird/squirrel/rabbit burrowed a small hole, leaving the outside intact.

But the last three ripe Romas I was able to chop up with some basil, a dribble of olive oil, and a sprinkle of salt and pepper for a nice salad. Here's hoping your weekend is filled with lots of good eats too.
