Guess what genre inspires The Woes, playing The Taphouse tonight
The Woes is great name for a band that mixes Delta blues, early country, bluegrass and New Orleans marching band music. It's hard to pick which of those genres is sadder, but this five-piece band out of New York is not going to have you crying. More likely, your head will be nodding, and you'll be struck by some great lyrics like "Would you swallow my last breathe by your lips" from the song "Heart for Dreaming." You can catch them tonight, July 10, at The Taphouse in Ghent. The show starts around 10 p.m. The cover is $5. You can sample "The Secret" here, but I would encourage you to give "Heart for Dreaming" a listen on MySpace.
