Virginia Tech's football team picked up its sixth oral commitment in 10 days Thursday when Loudoun County linebacker Chase Williams chose the Hokies over scholarship offers from Miami and West Virginia and interest from the likes of Penn State and LSU.

Williams is 6-foot-3, 235 pounds and rated the nation's No. 10 inside linebacker prospect by Rivals.com. He's the son of former Washington Redskins defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, who is with the New Orleans Saints. As a junior, Chase Williams posted 163 tackles, 33 for loss, and caught 36 passes for 481 yards as a tight end.

He became the 17th member of Virginia Tech's 2010 recruiting class, the 11th from in-state.
