Shelter vs. rec center
Once again, I'm hearing those two words recreation center. Some people won't let go of the idea that a recreation center is the answer to all that is wrong with some of our children. It may offer solace, but it's not a quick fix.Carl Wright, a member of the Virginia Beach NAACP, argues that instead of a new animal shelter, the city of Virginia Beach should build a recreation center. While I applaud his concern for children in need of some direction, I honestly believe that these same children would be better served if the NAACP focused on the parents of these children.
An animal shelter is necessary because there are so many homeless animals that can't fend for themselves.
We are fortunate that we have companies like Armada Hoffler offering their services to build an animal shelter.
