Softball

When: 10:30 a.m.

Where: Christopher Newport University

Directions: Take I-64 west to Exit 258A. Cross Warwick Boulevard, which becomes Avenue of the Arts. Circle the roundabout to get onto Shoe Lane, then turn right onto Moore’s Lane. Stadium is on the left.

South Hampton Roads players: None

Other players of note: The West roster includes pitcher Caroline Williams from Group AAA runner-up Loudoun Valley. The East has catcher Haley Johnson from Group AA champion Broad Run and pitcher Brooke Short from Group A champ Altavista.

Baseball

When: 2 p.m.

Where: Christopher Newport University

South Hampton Roads players: A trio of All-Tidewater first-teamers – Cox shortstop Chris Taylor, Nansemond River outfielder Erickson Keeton and First Colonial catcher Blake Boyce – are on the East team. Taylor, who signed with Virginia, was Eastern Region, Group AAA and All-Tidewater Player of the Year.

Other players of note: Menchville’s Ethan Carter, a pitcher who led the Monarchs to their first Group AAA state title and signed with South Carolina, is on the East squad. Joining him are catcher Gavin Hylton, the Group A state Player of the Year and UNC signee R.C. Orlan, a pitcher from Deep Run.
