Two men escaped uninjured from a mobile home fire in the 2500 block of Gilmerton Road on Thursday, according to a news release from the Chesapeake Fire Department.

At 6:26 p.m., firefighters were called to the fire, which began on the deck area and was caused by discarded cigarettes, the release said. The siding on a neighboring home was melted from the heat of the fire.

No injuries were reported, and the two men are staying at a local motel.
